Ormskirk Street URC is located close to the town centre and seeks to offer quality worship of a traditional kind each Sunday morning. We have an excellent Baroque organ, and a small choir to accompany our singing.
Our church mission statement announces that
“We are here to worship God and to bring others into a relationship with Jesus Christ, with the help of the Holy Spirit.”
The church building is well used by various organisations from the town (check the “Community Groups” tab above), as well as regular coffee mornings and other events put on by members of our church.
WE have a new minister – Rev Cath Atkinson who was ordained and inducted on 31st August 2019. The church will be part of a new pastorate in St Helens, which includes Haresfinch URC and Rainford URC.
There are 8 URCs in the borough of St Helens ( one of which is a Methodist/URC L.E.P. ) which together comprise the ‘St Helens Team Ministry.’ Together we put on occasional events and training for the church fellowships.
