Pastorate Letter – April ’26

He is risen! He is risen indeed, Alleluia!

Dear friends,

Why do Christians make such a fuss over Easter? Perhaps
because without it, Jesus would just be a good man who did
some incredible things while he was on earth.
Over these past few weeks of Lent, we have followed closely

some of the events in Jesus life, and in Holy Week we re-
member his last days on earth; the last meal he shared with his

friends, his prayer in the garden of Gethsemane, his arrest and

trials, leading to his crucifixion on a cross.
Anyone looking at him that day would have thought him
overwhelmed by the powers of this world, even the power of
sickness and death. And yet we know that Jesus’ life did not end

there- this is only half of the story.

On the third day, the tomb was empty, Jesus is raised to life,
victorious over all the powers of this world, even death – breaking
the power of all those things that bind us. In Jesus there is hope,
there is new life, life in abundance, eternal life.
For those who are feeling overwhelmed by the powers of this
world, who are facing difficulties, for those who can’t see a way
forward, or are facing the end of something precious, hear these
words- in Jesus there is hope, and there can be new life.
There is more to life than what we see…

Why not come and celebrate with us this Easter? He is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
Your friend and minister

Cath
